High speed fibre wifi in Dorset

Many locations in Dorset have very poor wifi, including residential areas with no access to fibre. Starlink is our only option to get decent speeds and that is £80 a month.

Why the contribution is important

Can the council please support a programme to bring high speed wifi to all residents so we can work and use the internet properly?

Have proper connectivity in Dorchester - where the council is and promotes and wins awards for digital connectivity yet can't use our phone/wifi in dorchester - be great if this could be sorted

Broadband Internet connection is only via copper so max in about 30mbps in Ashley Heath (BH24 2EJ). Working at home nowadays with video calling etc we would benefit significantly with faster fibre to the property. Wessex internet have just installed fibre down the castleman trailway right behind our house bit we were told it runs from Ringwood to West moors only.

Ashley Heath has shockingly poor broadband speeds.

Fiber to the home or have 5G installed to accommodate better speeds as well as better mobile coverage.

high speed access is so important for every priority area in the Council's plan. It is poor, patchy and in some cases non existent in even some of the more built up areas of the County. Despite promises for so long and minibuses with advertising saying that Dorset is achieving this, it really is not. it is the only way for the Council to move forward with whatever long term plans it makes
