Provide public transport
Rural areas need public transport links to local towns. Adjacent to the bus stops should also be secure bicycle racks, so if you have to cycle to your nearest bus stop you have somewhere safe to leave your bike.
Why the contribution is important
Young People in particular need to be able to access local towns for work and education. Once a young person goes to sixth form/college, parents/carers must pay approx £900 a year for their child to get a school bus to their place of further education. A good public transport service would reduce this cost for parents/carers and provide young people with the option to stay for after school/college activities or for a part-time job.
