Upwey and broadwey memorial Hall

Disabled Toilet/ facilities are needed to be able to open up and cater to a wider community

Why the contribution is important

A disabled (accessible) toilet at a local community hall is needed so that people with disabilities can use the facility safely, comfortably, and with dignity.

Key reasons include:

Accessibility: Some people use wheelchairs, mobility aids, or require extra space to move around.

Safety: Features such as grab rails, emergency pull cords, and accessible layouts help reduce the risk of falls and injuries.

Inclusion: Community halls are intended for everyone. An accessible toilet allows people with disabilities, older adults, and some carers to participate in activities and events.

Legal requirements: In many places, including the UK, public and community facilities are expected to make reasonable adjustments for disabled users under equality and building-accessibility regulations.

Wider benefit: Accessible toilets are also useful for people with temporary injuries, certain medical conditions, and parents assisting disabled children.
