Modeshift stars + sustrans

There is a company called modeshift stars which is all about encouraging walking, cycling and public transport. At the moment Dorest does not have a licence but if they did the programme could support in numerous ways. 

The main benefit is companies and schools can sign up and get awards which reflect how they have improved the amount cycling and walking. Modeshift also gives support on creating travel plans, maps etc. 

By getting schools and individual businesses involved it means the impact is local and is run by the local areas. 

Sustrans as well are fantastic. In Hampshire they have bike doctors to teach bike maintain skills, run bike safety sessions and support schools. Again putting in the infrastructure for locals to make the right decisions. 

Both are local initiatives it is up to the schools with the councils support to get the awards. But when they get the award not only are we helping the environment but it brings communities together and empowers locals to make a difference.
