Dorest resident card
Stealing this idea from Swindon but for years they had a swindon card anyone who was living in Swindon and registered to vote had the card. I think if you were of a certain salary band you had to pay though.
The card however gave you discount on normal facilities that could sometimes be busy with tourists this meant that as locals we kept using the pools, gyms etc.
At the time I was from a single parent low income family and as a teen it helped me as I did not have to pay full price and could access pools etc.
Why the contribution is important
Could help keep local facilitates going in winter. Help low income families access facilities too.
