Estate Management Apprenticeship Scheme

Employing a group of teenagers, especially those not currently accessing higher education to do some estate management - litter picking, weeding pulling/ control in alleyways and gutters for example. Then further into hedge trimming at residents properties where hedges and shrubs over hang pavements, managed by a tutor with apprenticeship scheme in place for them - in collaboration with Coastland College, if they need to do some class based learning perhaps this could be undertaken in the community centre? 

There are estate management jobs advertised locally and nationally with some amazing opportunities that come up - managing remote islands live in, managing historic house estate ... perhaps they could visit a property as part of the course to see people working that type of job for any idea of potential as well. 

There could maybe be a feeder course run for younger teenagers for whom bigger schools were too overwhelming or not the right fit for. Again locally - but with an end goal insight of training to go into the apprenticeship roles on the estate; locals who need hedges etc trimmed can have this service at a good price to help with training with the money earned going back into the scheme and towards the apprenticeship paying of the individuals. There is extra funding available that could also go towards this making it a sustainable long term project. 

Installing pride in the appearance of the estate, and residents seeing the work being put in visually improving the area by those who maybe felt they were overlooked or thought badly of would help mental wellbeing, increase the sense of civic pride and a stronger sense of attachment, affection, and responsibility toward the local community or environment. So many local older children drop from senior education, many after thriving at the local primary school - having a viable alternative on their doorsteps, with smaller group numbers would surely improve youth mental health locally, giving them support and positive role models and more!
